Description

How can someone so smokin’ hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. RUBBISH. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he’s an arsehole. So… what is wrong with me that I can’t stop thinking about him?

The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

THE PIXIE
Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn’t like rugby.
As the little sister of Ireland’s most infamous rugby player, Lucy can’t seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother’s frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she’s down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble

THE PLAYER
Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute… or so he’s been told. Frequently. By everyone.
His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies all over the world over drool with desire.  As the rugby world’s second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy’s big brother leave him cold. And when he’s cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

THE PLAN
Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I’ll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world—and Lucy’s big brother in particular—that this is the real deal?
Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

Wow what a wonderful book this is the first book by this author and I loved it . Lucy had moved to New York as a celebrity photographer , her brother was a Rugby player for the Irish squad . Sean Cassidy played on the same squad as Lucy’s brother hand the two men didn’t like each other at all. So of course when Lucy and Sean met they were drawn to each other. Read this great book and find out all that happens .

I can not believe I am saying this, but I LOVE SEAN CASSIDY!!! <3<3<3 He was such a jerk in the first book, but know we get to see a deeper sweeter side to him. This book was amazing! i loved it so so much. Sean's past was sad and lonely and made me feel so much for him. And Lucy always felt unworthy by her mother. I think Lucy and Sean are my favorite couple so far. I loved their entire relationship. And I absolutely loved that Sean was terrible in bed! It was actually kind of sweet lol. And the fact that Lucy didn't laugh in his face or get frustrated was great . Lucy was exactly what Sean needed. I loved how Sean slowly fell in love with her. He actually liked being with her and not just for sex. I loved their week in NYC and finding out that Sean is a dog lover <3. And the drama with Ronan was actually kinda great. Lucy was so scared to hurt Ronan but i loved how everything came out. And Sean's jealousy towards Ronan in the beginning made me what to hug the little unloved boy inside of him. The ending was perfect! Definitely my favorite of the series. I wish Brodrick's story was next though. I really liked Eilish so i'm interested in her book next, but please do one for Brodrick too! :)

I loved Sean's and Lucy's story. It was clever, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book. Although each book is stand alone, I think they definitely need to be read in order.

The Player and the Pixie by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid is the second book in their Rugby Series. It is a witty, romantic romp through uncomfortable truths, kleptomaniac issues and bad sex turned good. This is the story of Lucy Fitzpatrick, little sister to Ronan Fitzpatrick from The Hooker and the Hermit and of Sean Cassidy, Ronan's arch-enemy from the professional rugby team they both play for. What could possibly go wrong??? The writing, once again, is phenomenal. There are some writers that are good and write an enjoyable story and that is great and then there are others that just draw you in a word/sentence/paragraph at a time until you're hooked. This is something that varies completely by personal preference and many other factors, I'm sure, BUT, Penny is an absolute go-to for me and by association LH Cosway - these two together... WOWZA! They are NOT afraid to make the hero and heroine both far less (and yet more because of it) than the perfect character you usually get and we love them all the more for it. Awkward situations that we can enjoy as observers to the trainwreck that happens and loving seeing this different side of Sean. I simply am bursting at the seams for The Cad and the Co-ed, book three in the series.

Sean and Lucy were an unlikely match from the beginning. Both fighting the possibilities. They learned they were like yin and yang, two parts of a whole. A great tale about following your heart instead of other's expectations. Passionate, funny, and interesting. A great series. Looking forward to the next.
