This eBook is a copy of animated slides presented in my workshop “Launching a Business Internet Presence”. The scope of this workshop is to identify a no-nonsense but comprehensive approach to get on the web to obtain the goals of increasing business.
I first started developing websites in 2003 when it was a complicated process to build a website. Since then, software web building technology has advanced in software tools making it much easier to get on the internet and create websites. Social Media has also exploded in popularity making it a viable option to incorporate into a business web plan.
Today the market is filled with “simple 1-2-3 website building tools” and all types of “free” site offers. Most often I find many small business candidates dive into these offers but get frustrated when they find they cannot meet their expectations.
Getting new business is the challenge and “simple 1-2-3” processes usually don’t produce the desired results. It’s not due necessarily to shortcomings of the web builder tools; it’s the users have become indoctrinated to “quick and easy” and don’t realize the business planning steps necessary to produce a high-performance website. It’s like cooking a gourmet meal. If you don’t have all the right ingredients, the result will at best be mediocre.
This workshop is intended to show all the ingredients in the process of building a business website.
