Description

A standalone novel in the riveting Rockwell Legacy series …
Griffin Rockwell has returned to Rocky Peak Lodge with a secret. Not even his family knows why he left his beloved sport of motocross at the top of his game. When his brother needs a favor, he can’t say no, even if it involves the pub’s sexy new employee—the one he’s clashed with ever since they met.
Serena Riggs has a secret of her own. She’s searching for her father, last seen in the small Cascades town years ago. Someone wants her to stop—but she’s not one to back down, especially with a sinfully hot temporary “bodyguard” by her side. When another threat surfaces, the only place she feels safe is in Griffin’s arms…and in his bed.
As the couple falls deeper by the day, danger looms from a direction they never imagined. Can their love survive the most stunning secret of all?
I love the touch of mystery surrounding Griffin and Serena’s story. He’s called The Rogue but that’s all in the past. He may have been the bad boy of motocross but he’s nothing but sweet and hot when dealing with Serena. She’s feisty and fun, but also reserved about her past, even when it seems someone is trying to get her to leave town. They both have their secrets but also an insane amount of chemistry and an instant, believable connection. Jennifer Bernard weaves a great cast of characters, a bit of well-organized suspense and a couple to enjoy and root for. While The Rogue is a stand-alone, it is book two of the Rockwell Legacy series. You’ll love them both!

Griffin may be the gruff Rogue, but deep down he's the protector, especially for Serena, who doesn't fall for his outward charm or general loner exterior. Serena sees him, even when he's trying his hardest to cover up what he wants no one to know. I'm so glad they confided in each other and worked as a team. I loved this book from start to finish (I even stayed up until 1:30 to finish it!)! I love this family and their commitment to each other even through the hard times. The epilogue was a lead in to the next book coming out in December. It's going to be hell to wait two months for the next story...
