Description

Jack Ryan, Jr.’s race to stop an international criminal conspiracy is intertwined with the fate of an old friend in this blistering entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

The CIA's deepest secrets are being given away for a larger agenda that will undermine the entire Western intelligence community. Director of National Intelligence Mary Pat Foley wants it stopped but doesn't know who, how or why.

Jack Ryan, Jr., is dispatched to Poland on a different mission. The clues are thin, and the sketchy trail dead ends in a harrowing fight from which he barely escapes with his life.

If that's not bad enough, Jack gets more tragic news. An old friend, who's dying from cancer, has one final request for Jack. It seems simple enough, but before it's done, Jack will find himself alone, his life hanging by a thread. If he survives, he'll be one step closer to finding the shadowy figure behind the CIA leak and its true purpose, but in the process, he'll challenge the world's most dangerous criminal syndicate with devastating consequences.

Tom Clancy must be rolling over in his grave. I could have written that… 800 pages and then everything wraps up in 25 pages? Sellout Mike Maden…

Written for people a lot younger than me.
  • Another Jack Ryan Jr Snoozer

Just another Jack Ryan Jr book where he leads with his little head during a mission and blows it. Why would you write a spy novel where the main character is terrible at his trade, puts others at risk, and doesn’t get reprimanded for his discretions. This is the last time I get fooled by the legacy of Tom Clancy and the publishers that tack his name on a worthless book.

I’ve read every Tom Clancy oil in the Jack Ryan series, even those written after his death and this is the first I could not get through. Plot elements ave been used in other thrillers I’ve read, predictable as any novel I’ve read and it seems to have been written like a term paper that has to be a certain length and the students fill it with garbage to meet the requirement. Sad day.
  • Waste of my time

Contrived and lacking suspense. Tom Clancy needs to reclaim his authorship of his books and write them himself. This book was a waste of my money. No more Tom Clancy books for me.

Ok story line, went off track from time to time to fill pages. Also Don't like reading about guy relations in my action story's. Will give sub author one more chance to redeem himself.
  • Not Tom Clancy

Just because Tom Clancy characters are used they use his name as one of the authors. This isn’t a bad book but it is NOT the quality of a Tom Clancy novel. I am sure that they will continue to write more books with these characters but it is time to end the series or at least quit attributing partial authorship to a legend that has passed.

I am a huge fan of Clancy and have enjoyed the books, but lately, the series is getting ridiculous. This book was pretty slow, lacked a lot of excitement, and was basically a generic book written by the author with Clancy characters forced into it. The days of great plot weaving are gone.
