Description

Showing up on her sister's doorstep several years after stealing her man might not have been the smartest thing to do, but Megan Rose is out of choices. Sick, with $3 in her pocket and no gas in the tank, she's ready to eat as much crow as needed until she can get back on her feet and leave for good--hopefully having made amends.

As much as his sister-in-law wants Megan gone, Ethan Tulane needs her to stay. She's the only one able to communicate with his newly-adopted, French-speaking son, who has a tendency to make a run for it at every opportunity like he's still trying to escape his war-torn country. His son and Megan quickly form an unusual bond, and it isn't long before Ethan realizes they're both running scared, traumatized by their pasts. He understands his son's behavior--but Megan's? His protective instincts screaming, Ethan is determined to uncover the nanny's secret...

This was a tearjerker for me. The traumatizing events that the characters lived through hits hard. The happy ending was worth the pain!

It was a pretty good read. The main characters were likeable. The only character i couldnt stane was the sister, Jenn. this was the 1st book i read, and I am glad it is a stan alone in a sense because I do not want to read Jenn’s story. She was very cold, and even childish at times when she refused to let go of petty sbiling squabbles from childhood. Other than that a good easy read. I did wish the vilain had caued a bigger climax but it was a good short read.

It felt rushed at the end of the book. I would have loved for Jenn to feel a little more regretful for treating Megan the way she did and reevaluation for what the dad did. It was a good book otherwise
