Description

After surviving a messy divorce and custody battle, Dr. Connor Wallen quickly became married to his job. Helping animals is the perfect distraction from his crazy ex, but he finds it difficult to concentrate when an attractive woman joins his veterinary clinic. Getting involved with someone who works for him would only lead to disaster, so staying professional is key.

He tries to ignore her, but their chemistry is undeniable.

Elizabeth Bishop can’t stand her boss or how he treats her, but there aren’t many job options in small-town Texas. No matter what she does, it’s never good enough for Connor, but she continues trying to impress him anyway.

She’ll never admit she’s attracted to him and denies it every chance she gets.

Avoiding him is impossible, but Elle keeps her distance whenever possible. After his walls start to crumble, she knows her feelings aren’t one-sided. She’s tired of playing his games and is ready to prove who’s really in control.

Although he pushes her away, she’s determined to pull him closer—showing him exactly what they’ve both been missing.

**Bossing the Cowboy is a complete stand-alone and can be read without reading any of the other books or spin-off series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.**

I enjoyed the realistic depiction of the stress people often live with and how it affects their interactions with others. I appreciated the display of professionalism between the main characters even though their attraction for one another added another level of tension. The story line kept me glued to this book. Well, done! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic conflict resolved in a unique manner.

Oh, how I love Kennedy Fox's books and this book was no different!!! Elle is working toward her dream and to do this she is working with Connor at his veterinary clinic. Will Elle let what she believed of Connor to be her final thought or will it all change when she sees him with his daughter? Connor has been through a bitter divorce and his ex-wife does everything to make his relationship with his daughter hard. Will he be able to make everything work or will he give up so that his life isn't as stressful? This book again like all the rest was a great read. I was glued to my device having to know what was going to happen and this book did not disappoint. I can't wait for the next Circle B Ranch book!!!

This is such a story...I mean, a real and true feel of the relationship built by two people you know. The pace, patience and understanding of what needs to happen, when it needs to happens, and what is at stake if things are not handled carefully and thoughtfully. The dynamics of parenting, co-parenting, being a single parent, and putting your child first is detailed beautifully in the story. Shear considerations about how to work and lead and behave so that the end results are favorable for all involved is the key to this story & relationship between Connor & Elizabeth. Be ready for the beginning of their “coupling”....it is all about the details. Just a great book...wonderful array of all your emotions. Well written.
  • Cute, small town, office romance

This is a slow build story in a small town, staring a single dad who also happens to be an angsty boss to his newest intern. The first half of the book builds over a 3+ year timeline, but it’s written well so you don’t feel like you have whiplash trying to catch up with the timeline change. 🤠 There’s a little drama, a lot of big feelings, and oh those steamy scenes!!! This is a perfect read for when you want to escape reality and join in on the antics of the Bishop family.

Connor and Elizabeth’s slow burn romance was so swoon worthy from start to finish. I loved Ellie’s spark as she handles her emotions around Connor who gives her the hot and cold feels. Their many intense interaction brings heat level galore and add in his cute daughter Olivia your heart can’t help but melt. A feel good, swoon worthy romance read that didn’t disappoint, I can’t wait for Harper and Ethan’s story.

I enjoyed this. Soooo much!! I have loved the Elizabeth and Conner subplots over the last books! This book spans a couple years. Which make sense in light of what Conner is dealing with. If you’re looking for a hard fought, earned it love story, look no further. I loved the dialogue. I loved seeing the other family members. And I lovedddd the ending! Highly recommend

I love anything written by Kennedy Fox, especially the Circle B Ranch Series. What I love most about this series is the importance of family and that they are always there for one another. As I was reading, I felt as if I was part of the family and that I had been welcomed into the Bishops’ inner circle so I could experience their family values, closeness and the devotion they have for each other. I really enjoyed “Bossing the Cowboy” because I had always wondered why Elle constantly complained about her boss, Connor. Was he just a tough boss who was always challenging her or was it something more? Elle and Connor have always had a contemptuous relationship, but I held out hope that somehow fate would bring them together. They had devoted their lives to helping animals, big and small, and to always reassure their owners that their pets were their number one priority. They are an integral part of the community and Connor was glad that he had someone as smart and dedicated as Elle working for him. He never forgot the first time he saw Elle, bursting with enthusiasm and promise. He was in awe of her brilliant mind, beauty and infectious personality. Connor kept his feelings for Elle to himself because his daughter Olivia was his life and he had no time for anything else. Even though the chemistry between Elle and Connor was electrifying, neither of them felt it was appropriate to act on their feelings. What would it take for these star-crossed lovers to finally admit they are soulmates after all?
