Description

A sexy standalone from New York Times bestseller, Kendall Ryan.
He has everything a man could want. A lucrative hockey contract. Adoring fans. A family who loves him.

But he’s about to throw it all away. Logan Tate’s name is dominating the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Instead of goals and assists, the talented young defenseman has been racking up fights and suspensions.

I work with athletes who are struggling, but Logan’s different. He’s not just going to blow his season, but his entire career. And now he can’t return to the ice until he deals with his issues, but the stubborn man won’t let anyone get close enough to help.

Which is why I packed up and followed him to his family’s property in the remote mountains of Colorado. He can’t avoid me here.

The only problem?

I can’t avoid him either. He’s chopping wood and building fires, rescuing my car from snowy ditches, and inviting me to Sunday dinners with his loud extended family. He’s a whole lot of man, but beneath all those hard edges is an unexpected tenderness.

Tempted or not, I have to stay out of his bed and get him back to the ice . . . no matter how difficult that might be.

This is a sizzling new romance in the Looking to Score series. Each book can be read as a standalone.

I usually like her books but this one is pretty boring. Skimmed a lot of it. This one just didn’t do it for me.
  • What about Graham?

Great book, but the ending…it ends by building up a story about Graham, but then nothing. The next book in the series does not follow Graham…give us Graham’s story!! Lol

I usually LOVE her books but this one was just not good. Grossly unprofessional and the timeframe is just laughable.

It's not hard to like Logan Tate, the talented but hot-headed rookie for the Boston Titans hockey team. Yes, he's got attitude to spare, enough to have been put on 'a break' until he can get himself together, but the reasons behind it are understandable. And Summer Campbell does understand, and she's determined to help Logan with his anger issues and get him back on the ice. She's so determined that she's going all in, and showing up at his family home, where he'll be a captive audience, so to speak. And so it begins... THE ROOKIE is another hit in Kendall Ryan's Looking To Score series. Summer and Logan have off-the-charts chemistry, the setting is a winter wonderland, and who in the world wouldn't love Logan's big, loud, quirky family? I really enjoyed getting to know the Tates, and how quickly Summer slipped right into the thick of things. Sure, there's some drama, but all in all, this is a quick and engaging read with more uplifting than not, and can be read as a standalone, although I've liked the other books in the series, and would recommend them as well. If you're looking for a sweetly steamy read with great characters and a touch of angst, pick up THE ROOKIE, and enjoy. ❤️
  • Another player falls!

Another player falls! Logan has had a rough time in his rookie season between the death of his father and a combination of misplaced anger and guilt, and after being suspended for a large number of games, he decides to run home and figure out if hockey is still his future. Summer, one of the sports psychologists, travels to Logan’s hometown to track him down and get him to take a chance on her being his psychologist because she really needs this job. As an only child and still struggling with the death of her own mother, she is focused on landing Logan as her client and fights the attraction she feels to him, even when he pushes her away. He thankfully gives her a chance, and she stays on his family’s property to get to know him more as well as fit in sessions and start helping him compartmentalize. The bulk of this story is these two fighting their feelings and attraction, and by the time Logan realizes it, it’s too late, and Summer has returned home and referred him to a new psychologist. I loved the sweet story this couple had and I can’t wait to see who’s next! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
  • Soul deep!

4.5 Stars  This is book 3 in the Looking to Score series and it features rookie hockey player, Logan and therapist, Summer.  Their connection feels soul deep.  Her connection with his family feels like it’s meant to be.  Their emotional vs. professional struggle was real.  Their choices were heartbreaking.  The story line was fantastic! The main thread of this story had little to do with hockey but enough to come out in this hockey series.  Character growth was full of emotion.  This was a beautiful romance and I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
  • Total Honesty

Total honesty…I loved this book. This was one of those books that I knew I was going to love once I started reading it. I don’t know if that is weird or not, but that is how I felt. My feelings weren’t wrong. If it weren’t for that dreaded sleep, I would have finished this book in one night. This book was a pleasure to get lost in and read. Logan Tate is a troubled rookie on the Boston Titan NHL Team. He is on the verge of losing his career. The only way to make it back on the ice, see one of the team-appointed Sports Psychologists. Summer is a Sports Psychologist that is trying to get her practice off the ground. She knows that helping Logan will be just what she needs to establish her career and her practice. When she goes to Colorado to chase down Logan, she gains more than just a client. She finds a life. To me, this book was more than just a hockey romance. It was about two people who lost their center. They were only existing but not living. Through their partnership, they found not only their center but a reason for living. This book is well written and filled with great characters. I didn’t want it to end.

This book pulls you in from the very beginning with Logan and Summer just keeps you interested when they form their connection. This one doesn’t primarily deal with hockey, but more of grief, loss of a loved one and how to deal and process the pain and hurt. I absolutely loved this storyline and how close Summer gets in with Logan’s family. A fantastic addition to the Looking to Score series, can’t wait for the next one in this series. I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.
  • A sweet sports romance read.

A sweet sports romance read! Logan Tate is a swoon worthy character with his bad boy image but a sweetheart. His dealing with a lot after the lost of his father and when the team gives him an ultimatum he finds himself face to face with Summer. They weren’t expecting each other, but when she finds herself spending time with his family, it opens her eyes to so much more. This was a cute storyline with likable characters that made for an enjoyable easy to read romance.

As his therapist, Summer should never be involved with Logan, but as they spend more time together, they have a hard time stopping and completely fall in love over a couple weeks. I love his family and they most definitely love Summer. The family do their best to keep her and help them see they should be together. I really like how she helps him appreciate what he has AND does what she was supposed to as his therapist. I received a free copy of this book.
