I feel like this book it's a really bad rap. I can see how people would think the things that are being talked about in this book are manipulation or mind games, if a person applies it that way it's certainly can be.. However, I think with this really does is sets out a guideline for those of us who get overly excited and don't really understand proper personal boundaries. It advocates self-care good eating habits, exercise, self-restraint, making your own life, putting yourself in your own life first. I myself am very guilty of developing a crush on someone, and they would just become my entire world. I would become very overbearing for them, even if they did really like me. I got used because I would chase the guys and they would see my willingness to do it it took. I believe these rules are applied properly the losers and users lose interest cuz they certainly want to put forth any effort.. This is an about tricking just any man to fall into love with you. This teaches you the ways to behave to protect yourself from those guys that don't care enough to chase you. I don't think you should be read as the Bible, take what you can of it and learn. It's really awesome advice

Every girl should read this book. It will save you from unhealthy relationships with others and you will build a solid foundation for what you will and will not tolerate in a relationship. I personally think that this book should be given to girls in school, and there should be support groups.

The rules work! I'm now engaged and it is getting harder to follow the rules :( I'm also noticing the changes that were mentioned once you start caring too much.. They really make sense- men will always like a chase. Now when I see women who chase after men, I can't help but laugh. It reaches you to be a LADY which is rare nowadays. I started out in a long distance relationship and am glad it covered that part , a lot of books don't so I couldn't relate. With this one, I did. Need to focus again on using "The Rules"
  • Horrible advice overall

Seriously a terrible message; there was very little advice in this book I found helpful...mostly I was horrified. Funny how often these authors refer to the advice as not playing games, but that is exactly what it is. I have been much more successful in my romantic life and dating by doing mostly the opposite of what this book advocates. Make no mistake ladies, men can't stand women who play these games. And the sheer amount of typos was ridiculous; if you insist on reading this book, perhaps purchase the hardcopy in a used bookstore. Yes, used, as I wish I could get a refund.

I had no idea I was doing anything wrong when it came to men, but this book has changed my entire outlook! I'm excited to put it into practice! My only complaint would be the numerous amount of typos —I stopped counting at 10. I've never seen a publication with so many errors; it really undermines the book's message.
