I'm a professional dog trainer and have for many years had this book on my shelf in the " got to read it someday " pile . I recently attended a APDT conference in San Diego and had the pleasure of listening to and meeting Suzanne . She was funny , knowledgeable and attainable , it seemed to me I had known her my whole life. I got home that night and began reading this book , I literally fell asleep with it . The next morning I picked it up and completed it . I have begun recommending this book to all my family , friends and clients and truly believe she impacted my life in a way that will benefit anyone I have in my life . If you want to really connect with your dog and have a respectful and soul fulfilling relationship with them , I urge you to read this book . Your dog will thank you for it ! Suzanne your insight has changed my life and reignited my training passion in ways I never knew possible . Thank you for teaching me to dance ! Cathy Mayer , CPDT-KA Take The Lead Canine Training p.s. I'm actually thinking of changing my business name as I no longer take the lead from my dogs , I earned their trust and they follow me because they want to . It reminds me of a quote I found on a birthday card ; Don't walk in front of me , I may not follow . Don't walk behind me , I may not lead . Walk beside me and be my friend . written by ; Albert Camus
