An Excellent Read!

I was hooked from the beginning. It’s the kind of book I love. Sat up till 2 am. Just to finish.

I have loved Nora Roberts & J D Robb for years, but this seemed a bit different. I didn't guess the killers until almost the end. This had romance, rock & roll, pain,suffering, and most of all love. I wish there were a sequel. Top notch Nora Roberts.

A very nice read. It really held your attention. One of those “hard to put down” books.

Best book I’ve read in awhile!

The ONLY negative comment I can make is that my lover/husband had to wait for some lovin’ til I finished the book! A great piece of work, Ms Roberts!

An older book that popped up on my book alert. So worth the price to fall into a well written story with complicated characters in true to life situations. Emma discovering herself, living through abuse, finding her way out, helping solve the mystery of her brothers death…I really couldn’t put this book down.

Nora Roberts is the best. Her plots are not off the wall, a perfect mix of mystery, suspense, love, hate, happiness and sorrow.

Public Secrets is not Nora Roberts’ best book, but it IS a good one! When she was just a little girl, Emma was rescued from the hell of living with an abusive, alcoholic mother by her kind and caring biological father, a rising rockstar. She spent the rest of her childhood being raised by he and his wife. The only time, during her entire childhood, that she ever experienced more happiness was when her father and stepmother came home from the hospital with a new baby boy. The family’s happiness was shattered when the child was murdered during a botched kidnapping attempt while he was just three years old. Emma was the only witness. She blocked it out of her memory for years, even as she contented herself with managing her father’s band. Even as an adult, she still has little memory of what happened that night. Now, however, she has something much deadlier to worry about than ambitiously pursuing her own career... or finally finding true love. Her brother’s killers are now after her, convinced that she’ll someday remember the details of that horrible night. And that’s exactly what Emma must do. Her life depends on it! To me, Public Secrets would’ve been a better book if Roberts had spent more time focusing on the mystery of the little boy’s botched kidnapping and murder. Still, I didn’t regret reading a single page because Public Secrets was ultimately compelling, romantic, suspenseful, and terrifying. Thanks to the fact that Roberts spends the entire final third of the book focusing on the mystery and the danger surrounding Emma, the story becomes very suspenseful and terrifying, keeping readers on edge even as it delivers the most of the story’s romance by also focusing on the new man in her life. It’s no secret that Nora Roberts has become the national treasure of romantic suspense because of her flawless storytelling. Don’t let this book be the best secret that you have never been let in on! Public Secrets is a book worth telling your friends about, especially if they, too, are among Nora Roberts’ fans! A treat!

Awesome book and story that I wished would never end. Absolutely loved this story and characters!!!!!
