Description

Ellen DeGeneres' personal chef, Roberto Martin, shares over 125 delicious vegan recipes he's created for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi that he hopes will make healthy vegan cooking accessible and easy for everyone.

Portia de Rossi explains in her foreword, "Roberto taught me that the key to making good food vegan is substitution...you can enjoy all your favorite foods and never feel deprived."

Some of the standouts Martin, a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, has developed for Ellen and Portia include: Banana and Oatmeal Pancakes, Avocado Reuben, Red Beans and Rice, "Chick'n" Pot Pie, and Chocolate Cheesecake. Featuring mouthwatering photographs by award-winning food photographer, Quentin Bacon, this cookbook will appeal to die-hard carnivores and vegetarians alike.

  • Pretty pictures, but.....

I borrowed this book from the local library, excited to try a recipe. I made the vegan cashew cream and used it in the recipe to make the vegan Mac and cheese in this book. It was awful! This was a negative introduction to vegan eating and to this cookbook. I thought that since this chef cooked for Ellen DeGeneris, everything should taste great, not even "good".

The recipes look delicious, can't wait to make them. Wish it showed the nutritional info for each recipe, though

I was first taken by the wonderful layout and color photos, but the recipes are the real star of this book! Great tasting, easy to prepare recipes that anyone could love.

Always looking for new delicious Vegan recipes? I have tried several from this book, and have loved them all. You have to check out the Red Onion Jam. Yum! Thank you for sharing these amazing recipes.
  • Ebook typesetting horrible

I would love to buy this book on my iPad. It looks like it has some fabulous recipes and I love the concept. However. Reading the sample version was extremely difficult. Letters in words run together and aren't spaced appropriately. It looks like a very quick and sloppy conversion to get it into ebook form. Very unfortunate. But I won't buy an ebook that I can't read (easily). The lack of stars is purely based on the ebook typesetting issues.

We saw the book on Ellen, and I bought it right away. Even though we aren't strictly vegan, we've found all the recipes we've tried so far are absolutely delicious. The author makes some great flavor combos and the recipes are easy to follow. I'm thrilled with this book.

Recipes are really great and very easy to make. I especially love the fired chicken recipe definitely a great alternative to regular fried chicken. In all I'd definitely recommend this book.

My sister received the hard copy version of this excellent cookbook as a Mother's Day gift today. After devouring it (pun intended), I immediately ordered the e-version. Can't wait to get the release when it's ready! Thank you so much.
