Learn 3D with Cheetah 3D 6

Personally I think is a great book to compliment the Cheetah 3d forum and help guide. Could it expand on some details more, probably. But this wasn't meant to be a 500 page Maya guidebook. There are some typos, but in general everything written in the book IMO cover the topics at hand with specific regard to how they work in C3d. If a book for version 7 comes out, I would buy it also without hesitation.

This book is so horribly written it should be removed from iBooks! It reads as though the author copied disjointed content from all over the internet, then cobbled it together in a very rough and untrained manner, as a novice would, with the single goal to make money, not a book with any quality. The author fails to speak with any depth at any level and quite literally appears to lack any true understanding about the subject matter being written about. I remain alarmed that iBooks would allow such a horribly crafted item such as this one, into iBooks, especially with their strict NO Refund Policy. If I could return this item and get my money back I would. I am leaving this feedback in hopes of at least saving others from wasting their money or having to put up with reading a book that could have been written better by any eight year old. If I could give negative stars, I would do that as well - the One Star “I Hate It”, just does’t go far enough.

👍👍👍 •The baking texture tutorial is very well-written. •You showed a good sense of humor. •The cup tutorial is a good idea; it contains a variety of tools. •The book encourages playing around with Cheetah 3D. 👎👎👎 •I didn't see any of your renderings; users need professional work to inspire creativity. •Unnecessary focus on the inner workings of Cheetah 3D. Explanation should inspire creativity. •You didn't explain how to import a movie background into an animation. •There aren't descriptions on many of the tools, let alone ideas of usage. •You didn't explain how to script.

Poorly organized, limited information

This is a very difficult book to follow if you've never worked with C3D before. Horribly written, terms are introduced without definition. No explanation for why you're doing things. No explanation where files are you should access. If I could give it a negative star rating I would. And I make a living teaching software!
