From #1 bestselling mystery and suspense author Blake Pierce comes a gripping new series: May Moore, 29, an average Midwestern woman and deputy sheriff, has always lived in the shadow of her older, brilliant FBI agent sister. Yet the sisters are united by the cold case of their missing younger sister—and when a new serial killer strikes in May’s quiet, Minnesota lakeside town, it is May’s turn to prove herself, to try to outshine her sister and the FBI, and, in this action-packed thriller, to outwit and hunt down a diabolical killer before he strikes again.

Another step closer to her sister’s murderer! I really need Blake to give us a book focused 100% on May working on solving her sister’s murder, because while I enjoy these books, I’m fully invested in the little endings we get that give us another piece of her working on it and I’m hooked! In this installment, we see May work on a case involving women who are missing and by chance one gets away and caught on camera, although she is later recaptured. With all the searching, May is frustrated because she feels so close to finding the women yet they're right out of her grasp, and when one of the missing women is found a second time and rescued, it's the break in the case she needs to rescue the others. On the flip side of things, May & Kerry make a huge discovery in Lauren's case, although like the other books it doesn't resolve anything and leaves readers with much more questions than answers. I really need more of Lauren’s case – for me it’s the best part of the book and I want that resolution! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
