Description

The fur is about to fly between a cheerful cat sitter and a grumpy hockey nerd in this hilarious and charming rom-com by the New York Times bestselling author of Meet Cute.

Kitty Hart has become internet famous as the Kitty Whisperer for her expertise on all things feline, and as a result, her cat-sitting business is booming. But lately, she has a terrible feeling that maybe her life isn’t quite going where it’s supposed to—especially after falling face-first into her newest client. Not exactly the best first impression.

Fortunately, Miles Thorn is just as bad at first impressions. Strike one: he doesn’t like cats, especially Prince Francis, the haughty and mischievous Sphynx his mom left in his care. Strike two: tackling Kitty to the floor in a misguided attempt to save the pet he continually calls “the gremlin.”

As awkwardness slides into attraction and things start to turn purr-sonal, will these two complete opposites ever be able to find their furry-tail ending?

Another great read by Helena Hunting. This one will make you smile and laugh out loud with some awkward moments, swoon and give you all the feels. I loved the chemistry between Miles and Kitty. Prince Francis and Wilfred are cherries on top. Definitely worth the read.

What a story! I mean, it has everything! It starts off with two awkward people getting off on the wrong foot and crankiness abounds. But eventually, that turns into a different kind of awkwardness, and then, well, heat abounds. Miles & Kitty both have family tragedies in their pasts they’re dealing with, or trying to (or trying not to 🤔). When Miles needs someone to watch his moms cat, he calls the Kitty Whisperer…and it’s like fate stepped in. Even though they didn’t get off on the right foot, they eventually come together and heal each other.

This new story from Ms. Hunting is absolutely purr-fect! (yeah, I did that.) This is the story of Kitty and Miles. As always, Ms. Hunting writes a story that is full of heart, heat, and hilarity! I love the adorkableness of both Miles and Kitty. Their dialogue, upon meeting, is charming, funny, and smart. Both of them come into this relationship with some tragedy in their pasts, and it has left lasting effects. But as their relationship blossoms from business, to friendship, and to more, you see how they are two puzzle pieces that fit together amazingly. I admired the vulnerability that both Miles and Kitty have, I love the element of hockey and the secondary characters deserve stories of their own. From this story, I have learned to love my own cat more, to work on teaching her some basic manners (yeah right) and have a little giggle when she is cleaning her "toe beans". Even if you are not a fan of cats, get your hands on this phenomenal new story! You won't regret it.

4.5 stars. What a cute read! It was a bit more cat focused than what I’d have wanted.. would’ve like to to be a bit more about the humans. Other than that, I liked it. Both characters really opened up and grew too. It was a likable, sweet and funny story. I loved the real subjects Helena wrote on too. I’d read it again!

I absolutely adored these characters. The storyline was perfectly balanced with humor, romance and that little bit of awkwardness. I’m also a fan of the family dynamics and the authenticity that came with it. Helena Hunting had me laughing out loud and loving this book. *whispers …those geese! A. Must. Read.
  • A romance with a lot of humor

Miles Thorn needs help in the worst way. He has just started his dream job, analyst for a pro hockey team and his mother has been hospitalized after wandering the streets in her pajamas. Part of his job means traveling with the team, so he needs someone to take care of his mother’s sphinx cat Prince Francis while she is in the hospital. Enter Kitty Hart, the Kitty Whisperer. Their first meeting is more of a meet awkward than a meet cute, and they both find each other annoying. But with his mother’s diagnosis, he realizes that he needs to work with Kitty on a longer term solution. This is a romance with a lot of humor, but also some heavy issues (death of a child/brother, dementia, and death of a parent). The story goes a bit overboard with the cat puns, and Kitty’s physical clumsiness seemed overblown. But this was an enjoyable book overall. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

A Love Catastrophe was very entertaining and fun story. I really loved Kitty and the business she built from her love of cats. She is quirky, socially awkward and has no verbal filter. I love characters like her. Miles is a bit nerdy with his statistical analysis job, but it is really cool how he uses it to help hockey players perform better. These two are a match made in heaven. They have a lot in common with their family tragedies in childhood. It shaped their lives and continues to into their adulthood. I thought it was really sweet how they helped each other move on from the past. Miles and Kitty have amazing chemistry, and they have a lot of fun together. I laughed out loud many times during this read. I really enjoyed this book.
