Description

All she wanted was a family. Now, she just wants to the truth.

Stephanie Cortez finds her life turned upside down after the sudden death of her mother. Thrust into the ultra-wealthy world of her South American father, she discovers he has a family who does not want her there any more than her father does.

Daniel Hernan is struggling to save the newspaper that his stepfather has built from an enemy just as determined to crush it. Daniel will do whatever it takes to protect both the man who has been a father to him and the empire he's built.

Two adversaries unite to uncover the secrets and lies that threaten what they both care the most about—family. Jealousy, greed, lies, and emeralds ignite into a firestorm as family feuds and old rivalries rise up to tear their world apart. Can they discover the truth in time to save what they hold dear? Or will the truth be just as destructive?

Very much enjoyed a romance set in an international setting. The family dynamics added to the spark between the characters. It was wonderful to see Stephanie learn the truth about the past.

This book was so different from the books in the Aloha series ( I've read them all and loved them!), however I really enjoyed the setting, characters, and suspense in The Homecoming. After dealing with such a horrible stepmother, it was wonderful to read the sweet ending? Chris Kenniston is such a talented author!

Living in Kansas, I love live vicariously by reading about exotic locations. This book has lots to offer - a hot romance, mystery, and a stepmother that makes Lady Tremaine look like a saint. I couldn't put this book down and had to stay up late to finish it.

This book was a bit different from other books I've read by the same author ("Honeymoon for One" and "Aloha, Texas") but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The details the author included describing the setting for the book truly helped paint a picture in which to imagine the story taking place. This book shows the highs and lows that can happen when an estranged family member tries to return to a home she barely remembers. Look forward to reading more by this author!
