Okay I loved ALL of the books in the Last Call series, but wow...what a way to end with this one. The story of Casey & Tenn’s building romance had my heart really aching for the characters and everything they were going through. I am so sad to be done with this series & especially that I have no more Casey & Tenn to read about!

I normally don't write reviews but I can't tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the series!! Probably one of the best. Please don't end this series and I hope you continue with Woolf's story and maybe add that Tenn and Zoey gained full custody of Zoey!
  • A story with a real hero, a hero of the heart

Love is not suppose to hurt, love is not suppose to leave you hopeless, love is not suppose to destroy your soul and leave you bitter. But in the hands of the wrong person, love is a weapon that could cause irreparable damage to one's soul. Love is hope, love is light, love is wanting to change our set ways in order to start living instead of existing. Love, in the hands of the right person, can teach us that not all was lost... Casey Markham got her heart stomped on 8 years ago, she built a fortress around her heart, and made it her mission to bring men who think they are God's gift to the world down by using them and leaving them. One day while sitting on the side of the road with a flat tire a handsome biker and his traveling companion stop to help her. Tenn Jennings is tall, extremely handsome, with a dirty mouth. He's originally from Wyoming but came to NC to visit his daughter who is with his ex wife. From the get go the chemistry between Casey and Tenn is undeniable and incredibly hot. While Tenn is not necessarily like the love 'em and leave 'em kind that Casey sleeps with, she decides to have one night of fun with him. But one night might just not be enough between this two, and although Casey tries her to push Tenn away with all she has over and over, he fights even harder to show her that the right person is worth taking a risk for. There is only one little detail that Tenn wasn't counting on, and it could easily destroy the relationship he's been working so hard for. As much as I loved Casey and wanted to hold her at times telling her to open her heart, that not every man was the same, and that things will work out at the end, I loved Tenn even more. Let's put aside for a second the fact that he's a hunk of a man who can do and say very naughty, dirty things with his mouth alone, what I absolutely LOVED about him was that he fought for Casey, no matter how many times she rejected him, tried to hurt him or ran from him, he came back to show her that she was worth it, that she deserved all the love that she had denied herself for so long, and that he was going to protect her heart no matter what. Tenn is a real hero, a hero of the heart. This is a multifaceted story, a woman so heartbroken that even when she wanted to change her ways didn't know how, a man who, even though was somewhat jaded by his past relationship, takes a huge risk by loving a broken woman. A father and the love for his teenage daughter, a man and the internal conflict to do what he loves or be the man his father wants him to be. I can go on and on, but this well written and developed story makes it one of the best I've read this year so far, with magnificent characters that feel more like friends than fictional personas, and vivid scenes that transport you to the heart of the story. Don't let this fantastic book pass you by, highly recommended!
