Reviews:
"CJ Carmichael is a seasoned author... and this shows...She has written a fluid, easy to fall into mystery and I'm really hoping there will be more books in this series. The first installment in the Twisted Cedar Mysteries was a great read and I can't wait for more." - Cozy Reader

"One of my favorite elements of Carmichael's books is her gripping portrayal of family dynamics." Kathy Altman, USA Today

This is a compelling read in the 1st book. You get interested in the characters and the mystery but as the 1st book ends there are a lot of loose ends. I enjoyed the series less as I reached the 3rd book. Basically you have to buy the whole Twisted Cedars Trilogy to learn the entire story and the original 1st book "Buried" mystery isn't solved until the last book. This trilogy should have been published as one book. I'm getting really tired of paying $16.00 (trilogy) or more for substandard stories. The last books are always repetitive and slow. I'd love it if the authors that publish like this would put their story(s) in one book, develop the characters by giving each one their own identity instead of them all looking so flat; one "face & voice" blends into the other. The only character in this series worth reading about is Dougal but even he falls flat by book 3.

Book 2 is just as good as the first with even more questions and twists. If you love thrillers, you will not be disappointed. I just purchased the 3rd and final book in the series "Exposed" and as sad as I am for it to end, I can't wait to finally find out and tie in all the unanswered questions. This is exactly how a thriller should be! Only $10 for 3 books is a steal. I could not put this book down. I had to force myself so I could take my time enjoying it.

Don't bother. I purchased the first in this series at a discount. It was entertaining so I wanted to read the next two. Part 2 and 3 add very little to the story that couldn't have just been in the first one. Two and three have too much filler of what happened in the first one.
  • Excellent Part 2

Just when it seemed things could be coming to a neat and tidy ending....didn't happen. Part 2 is just as much as a page-turner, I could not put this down!
  • Great series

Got the first in the series free and was dying to know what happened next. This kept it going, and when you read the third, it all comes together!!! This, and the third in the series, were worth every penny. I'll be watching for books by c.j. From here on out.
