Description

See London’s best photo routes, know all  its sites and understand its history
That is the essence of London Photo Route.

London Photo Routes is a new way of seeing and interacting with London, where you will step into an experienced tour guide’s shoes and view London through their eyes. Become familiar with the location, identify what you are looking at, and understand its relevance to London’s historical past. Do this by having helpful visual and factual information at your fingertips.

The tour focuses on key areas within central Westminster, taking you on a visual journey through some of London’s most famous sites, including Trafalgar Square, Horse Guards Parade, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, and Big Ben.

The tour is split into 3 easy to navigate routes:-
• Charing Cross to Admiralty Arch
• Horse Guards Parade to Whitehall
• St James’s Park to the Houses of Parliament

Starting at Charing Cross Station, in the heart of London, the route goes toward Trafalgar Square via one of London’s oldest churches (St Martin-in the-Fields) and passes the National and Portrait Galleries.

From there it travels through Admiralty Arch and The Mall, before turning left toward Horse Guards Parade.  The route continues onto Whitehall, with its historic government buildings, before turning back towards St James's Park and the Churchill War Museum.  The tour then heads off towards Westminster Abbey before finally culminating in Parliament Square, next to the Houses of Parliament, which is also known as the Palace of Westminster, as it was the monarch's principal residence from the 11th to the 16th century.

On average, the route should take around an hour to complete, but could easily take longer if you wish to investigate the area in more detail.
