Description

USA TODAYPUBLISHERS WEEKLY AND ECPA BESTSELLER • The internationally recognized Bible teacher and daughter of Billy Graham combines unique biblical insights and her own personal stories to show how the Holy Spirit guides us in our decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times, enriching our daily lives.

In Jesus in Me, Anne Graham Lotz draws on her rich biblical knowledge as well as her personal journey—including her recent cancer diagnosis—to help us understand that the Holy Spirit is not a magic genie, a flame of fire, or a vague feeling. He is a Person who prays for us, guides us in our relationships and decisions, comforts us in pain, and stays by our side at all times. In this seminal teaching, she explores seven key aspects of the Holy Spirit that will revolutionize how you understand and relate to this vital third Person in the Trinity.

As Anne writes, “One of my deepest, richest joys has been discovering by experience who the Holy Spirit is in every step of my life’s journey. Each name that He has been given—Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby—reveals another aspect of His beautiful character and has provoked in me a deep love for the One who is my constant Companion . . . Jesus in me.”

Discover how to better love and rely on the person of the Holy Spirit—and embrace how much He loves you through His presence, power, and provision in our daily lives.

Praise for Jesus in Me

“With plentiful biblical references, Lotz encourages those who already rely on Jesus to step into a purpose-filled life led by the Holy’s Spirit’s guidance. Christians who desire to live a life of greater purpose to glorify God will be awed by Lotz’s impassioned exploration of the role of the Holy Spirit in her life.”Publishers Weekly

I loved this book! If you’ve ever had questions about the Holy Spirit, reading this will likely answer your questions and give you plenty of other details besides. Anne does a great job of weaving stories of her own life to show and tell the truths of scripture. She is unapologetic about her relationship with the triune God and I find that refreshing. Her appendices are valuable and I plan to work through a few of them more thoroughly. This book comes highly recommended.

I’ve had the privilege of hearing Anne Graham Lotz preach, worked through some of her Bible Studies and read some of her previous books. This book on how the Holy Spirit is Jesus in Me is written in her trademark style. It’s practical, easy to understand, filled with background information, encouraging and contains illustrations from her own personal life to make her point. Lotz writes about the names of the Holy Spirit and one that I’ve read but somehow just didn’t dwell on is “STANDBY” which is found in John 16:7 (Amplified Version). Standby is referenced again in Psalm 46:1. Lotz reminds us that the Holy Spirit can always be relied on either for regular use or when an emergency occurs. I think this quote best describes the role of JESUS IN ME: “... the only way to prepare for an emergency is to be pre-prayered. A crisis leaves no time to establish a relationship with God, no time to get right with Him, no time to learn how to pray. It leaves. No time. Period. A crisis just erupts without warning! So it’s critically important to establish a personal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ . . . now. To make sure that relationship is free of any sin that might cloud it or put distance between God and us . . . now. To establish a prayer life . . . now. Now. Before the crisis erupts. Then when it does, you and I can count on the Holy Spirit to be our Standby. He may not keep us from the emergency, but He will be with us in it and bring us through it.” I was provided an ARC of this book by WaterbrookMultnomah & NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.
