When 12-year-old Tessa moves to a new neighborhood, she attempts to befriend the boy who lives next door, a boy of the same age, named Sam. Tessa doesn't know that Sam has a special power, one he must keep secret at all costs. He is not a mind reader, but he is capable of something else, which at times he struggles to control. The other kids think he's strange and they avoid him. But with Tessa's arrival, everything changes.

However, Sam isn't the only one who takes an interest in Tessa. The coolest kid in the grade, a boy named Mason Collins begins to notice her as well. When Mason's persistent bullying becomes worse than ever, Sam is forced to teach him a lesson.

What happens when Sam goes too far? And does Tessa find out what he is actually capable of?

To be honest, the storyline was okay, the fact of someone having magic is pretty cool. But if you write a book, you need to make the characters more of a person instead of some doll-like figure. From the cover of the book, you can tell that the author had made Tessa more plastic instead of a human-like figure. It is stated in the book that Tessa was “perfect”, & that already is an obvious sign of poor writing. No one is perfect, except God. On the cover, it is shown that Tessa has a perfect body, which will make girls that are insecure about their body shape more insecure than before. There were no imperfections on her face, had PERFECT clothes, & had blonde hair with blue eyes, which is the common stereotype for beautiful girls. But the fact that there is a bully & a strict teacher who are both black come out as completely racist. Heck, they are the ONLY TWO BLACK PEOPLE IN THAT AREA, which is an example of poor character development. Because of these parts of the book I have read, it is VERY “Out”.

i read this book when i was 7 i was ( and still am ) overweight , t was hard to read a book about a girl who looked perfect.also it was EXTREMELY racist 😭😭.the author tried to hard it’s pretty easy to see that she isn’t very smart . if ur going to write a fantasy book ( or any book ) you HAVE to make the characters seem real , for example : they don’t look perfect, they don’t act perfect ,they have siblings , they don’t have perfect ANYTHING. overall terrible

Just like it showed on the cover, Tess is a white female with perfect blue eyes, blonde hair, and PERFECT clothes. Here’s another thing. Do you really think the cover of this book is going to make other girls feel BETTER about themselves if they are concerned about what their body looks like? Because Tess is also the “perfect” size. She’s got a skinny body, no zits, this girl doesn’t look like a real girl! She’s looks like a Barbie!!!

All I did was reed the sample and it great! I like how it has family, love, a dog, and magic, most importantly. PS: don’t put stuff in front of god/Jesus! John 3:16”So god so love the world that he gave his one and only son for you believe in him that he/she will not parish but have eternal life.” Till others about god! Share the love 💗

The storyline was cool. But I think it was at least a bit racist. First of all, Tessa is white with blonde hair and blue eyes. “The perfect girl”. Sam is also white. Sienna (one of Tessa’s friends) is white as well. There were other white people, too. The only two black people in that book who were pointed out and shown in pictures were Mason and Ms. Hodgkin. Mason was a cruel bully, and Ms. Hodgkin was a strict teacher. Do you see where I’m going with this? This really annoys me. I hope the second book is better than this. Thank you for reading this. P.S: Be happy!! JESUS IS LIVING!!!!!!! 😁🤗🤩🍥❤️🍓😆😆😜😝🤪😛
