The Grifter

This book was so good. I was on the edge of my seat through most of it waiting for the other shoe to drop. A lot of suspense along with fantastic characters and the romance between Frankie and Shawn. A must read.

I’ve gotta say I’ve been waiting for this book to be released and as usual Kimberly Kincaid does not disappoint. The Intelligence Unit is at it again and this time they’re trying to take down a particularly nasty villain. When detective Shawn Maxwell finds himself going undercover with an Ex Partner he hasn’t seen in nearly 8 years, you know things are about to get tense. Detective Frankie Rossi has her own reasons for being shoulder deep in this case, coming all the way from Atlanta to ensure that a murderous drug kingpin gets taken down for good. Together, they have to face a past long buried deep by both of them only to find out that they are still a great team despite their years apart. In the end, they are shaken by events that pull at their emotions and resolve, grounded by the innocence of a wide eyed little girl. I give it a million stars!

This is the third in the Intelligence Unit series and it’s a hot one! Heart pounding suspense, and a second chance love story make this a great and exciting read. Eight years ago, Detective Shawn Maxwell was partnered with Francesca Rossi. They were also secret lovers. In an arrest gone bad, Frankie was wounded and Shawn took on the guilt, which made the relationship fall apart. Frankie is now a Vice detective in the Atlanta P.D. on loan to the Remington P.D. to bring down a vicious criminal/drug dealer, responsible for multiple deaths and overdoses. The characters in the first two books work seamlessly through this story, but it can be read as a standalone. Shawn and Frankie go under cover, and immediately walk into danger. They finally get an opportunity to talk things through, the mistakes they made and realize how much they still care for each other. Meanwhile, both their lives are in danger. A surprise that has a huge impact on Shawn personally, adds to the suspense. I highly recommend this fast paced story, and the first two in the series are equally entertaining .
