Deciding to travel by car to California became the catalyst to a change in both their lives. Loved the interaction between the characters as they discovered a life that was more meaningful for them. Throw in a mystery that puts their lives in danger and you have the makings of another great Maryann Jordan romantic suspense story. Couldn’t put it down once I started. Received an ARC for an honest review.

A journey to get home has never been more adventurous, hot and surprising suspenseful All Chris wants to do is get to California to start his new job and visiting his mother after leaving the navy. After giving up his seat on a overbooked plane he heads to the USO. Meeting Blessing, who I love, her quote of “ The destination isn’t as important as the road you take to get there” confuses him but he has no idea just how true it is. Stella is the complete opposite of Chris, an artist and whom Chris deemed as flighty with a small bladder and an aversion to snacks on car trips. Overbooked planes, mechanical issues, and a rented car let a road trip that’ll change life for Chris in the best way! Through in some bad guys and it’s a great book as always from Maryann Jordan!

Stella is so much fun! Stella is just what Chris needs. Chris is solid and a bit stuffy. Chris and Stella embark on a road trip together that shows each of them that opposites can attract and stay. Drama comes their way. Great to see old and new characters. HEA.
