Was excellent. Learned a lot that I hope to use in my own way to be a leader with my players.

This work, the last by the greatest coach in NCAA basketball history, is worth having on any managers/supervisor's bookshelf. John Wooden was "old school" when it came to values and what he taught his teams. However, with 10 championships to his credit, no one knew how to get the most out his teams together. Wooden was also noted for keeping his emotions completely under control and taught his players to do so. A funny story came when he told about the TV color commentator who claimed Wooden showed some emotion because he raised his eyebrow after a call against his team! In addition, unlike the drift of society today, Wooden knew that a good leader knows to take responsibility when things went wrong. That's a far cry from what you see in the public arena today. Well, perhaps we could use a little "old fashioned" right now so we can better lead the people we work with. A very worthy read!
