Deuteronomy is the fifth and final book of the section of the Bible called the Pentateuch (from the Greek words pente [five] and teukhos [book]) or books of Moses. It is interesting that of the five books of Moses, Deuteronomy is the one most frequently quoted in the New Testament. And from the entire Old Testament’s thirty-nine books, Deuteronomy ranks as the third most frequently quoted book in the New Testament (surpassed only by the Psalms and Isaiah).
