I don’t like how Alexa Riley has changed. Go back to the sweet love books. Why did you make the sex scenes all about spanking? Such a turn-off. As someone who had an abusive childhood, I have no understanding why the hype these days is for men spanking women. Men hitting women should not be condoned. Shame on you. Your books were good without the abuse before. If this continues, you will lose fans and customers.
  • Not nearly enough groveling

This one made me wince a lot. Girl is pretty weak willed, guy is a complete idiot who claims to love her at first sight he doesn’t want to lose his best friend who is her brother so treats her like trash instead. Then he pulls some Dom like behavior and she just goes with it as if that’s somehow their dynamic and not just insanely creepy given the state of their non-relationship. Honestly she deserved a lot more groveling and actual conversations about consent and boundaries. I realize it’s fantasy but I was wincing and cringing the whole time, which is not the norm when I read AR.

I love Alexa Riley books. They are fast paced and steamy and always have a laugh in them. Tinsel is the town deputy and Jack is Tinsels brothers best friend. But Jack is madly in love with Tinsel. It is hilarious the way they fight before they get together and when they finally get together WOW. Hot and steamy. Loved it.
