Description

You ever really think that you'll win the lottery? Meet Mr. Right? How about two Mr. Rights?

Somehow the universe is handing me everything I want (except for that lottery part...), and I don't like it. Not one little bit. Because just when you get all your dreams handed to you on a silver platter, that's when an airplane dumps its sewage on your house. Or your mama's diabetes takes a bad turn. Or your mobile phone gets stuck in your hoo-ha.

(What? It happens…)

Boring old average me got everything I wanted already, moving from small-town Ohio to big-city Boston to follow my heart. So when the fancy invitation offering me a pile of money to come with the band, Random Acts of Crazy, to perform on an island resort and be their manager arrived, I thought it was a cosmic joke. Enough money to help my mama get what she needed, five days in sunny paradise, and a shot at greatness for the band? Unreal. One big shoe was waiting to drop. On my head.

Just like no one really ever finds a naked man wearing only a guitar standing by the side of the road hitchhiking and ends up falling in love with him and his friend and moving halfway across the country for true love, no one gets an invitation to come to what turns out to be a resort where people make what me and Joe and Trevor do together look like a chaste peck on the cheek. But...

Well.

I guess these things do happen.

To me.

I received an advanced copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. All I can say is Julia Kent has done it again. This book completely rocks! Oh Darla, Trevor, and Joe... how I have missed you. If you’ve read Julia’s previous books in this series, you know how gifted she is in character development... and as such she has you completely wrapped up and invested in these characters’ lives almost immediately. You don’t have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one (but some references really won't make sense to you, and I really highly recommend the previous books "Random Acts of Crazy", then "Random Acts of Trust"), but if you have read them, then I’m sure you, like me, have been not so patiently waiting for more from these characters. Julia certainly delivers! This book centers mainly around Darla, Joe, and Trevor, but Liam, Sam, and Amy (and I believe she’s carrying her phone in her purse this time as opposed to other more interesting areas) also make an appearance. This book has it all... romance, laughs, thrills, love, unicorns, and of course it’s beyond HOT! You will not want to put this down once you start reading. This latest in the “Random Acts” series certainly does not disappoint. If you’ve read the previous books in the series, you will absolutely love this one! If you haven’t read the previous books, well... you will still absolutely love this book!

I was given an ARC for my honest review. I love Julia Kent's books, her characters are well thought out, quirky, and fun. Random Acts is my least favorite series by her, but I still am attached to the characters. The problem I have is that at times I can't really relate to Darla, she's just a little to much for me, and I take each character as they are and try to find something to like about them. And I do like Darla once I get over my initial frustration with her mix of naïveté and country bumpkin-ness. But it is something that takes a good four chapters everytime I read her in a story. Then there is the randomness that seems to be trademark for these three, Trevor, Joe, and Darla. Their comments, their thoughts, their memories, and even their emotions, are all sort jumbled and just spit out at first that even having read their first two stories still makes me go "what?!" Like the Mavis thing and the constant comments about how Darla and Trevor met, I guess it's supposed to tease you to read the backstory, but after awhile it's just annoying. Yet I'm never disappointed by the end of the book, I've gotten used to Darla and I'm rooting for the three to understand they are what matters, nothing else. And in this book I was pleased to see Darla not let Joes insensitive remarks just roll off, leaving me anticipating the next part in their saga... Meeting The Parents! That's what I love about Ms. Kent's book she leaves wanting more, but not unfinished, if that makes sense. I can't wait for Liam's story and to see if Darla and Josie can actually do anything with their dating service. I am also very intrigued to learn more about the island of Eden and it's master.

I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. This book rocked! This is a continuation of Darla, Joe and Trevor's story. However, Amy, Sam and Liam show up too. Joe has gone off to law school while Trevor and Darla stay in town. Trevor is lonely and hates being away from them. The band gets an invitation to play at Eden and they accept. Great story and it was better than Random Acts of Crazy. I really liked how it was told in the first person by the three main characters. The same situation means something different to everyone and see it through their eyes really worked. More please!

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. Julia Kent has done it again! You can't but love Darla, Trevor & Joe! This book was so funny that it had me laughing out loud on several occasions. But it also showed you the love between these 3 characters. One minute you'll be laughing at Darla on the plane, hating Suzy with a passion & loving the hot sex scenes!

I just finished reading this book in one day it was that good I could not put it down. My favorite characters Darla, Trevor, and Joe go through ups and down. Joe being away in college is hard on him he thought that was what he want to do to go to college for law but he's having second thoughts. Also he's missing Darla and having a sexy chick across the hall isn't helping his sex drive. Trevor is loving college but the difference is he went to school at home where Darla is. Darla is working at the dating agency for threesomes. All of them are wondering in their heads if they love each other and running it in their heads. Then all of a sudden they all get a packet to the island Eden they want Random Acts Of Crazy to perform there and they are getting paid real well and Darla is going to get paid to be their manager. Warning signs go up so they check it out and it's legit. So they go to the island and go through things you don't want to miss. I can't give you everything but I will continue to push to have you read it. It's that good Julia Kent does it again A Must Read!!!

Thank you Ms. Kent for more Darla, Joe, and Trevor! These three are just delightful. Their first book (number one in the series), Random Acts of Crazy was in my top 5 novels of 2013 and this latest installment keeps the magic alive. It's got it all - humor, sexiness, angst, suspense. This smoking hot triad relationship is in its seventh month now and they are each dealing with their deepening emotions and how their alternative lifestyle fits into the world. It all comes to a head when Joe and Trevor's band, Darla and Sam's lady Amy receive mysterious invitations to a very special island. I don't want to give anything away, but trust me, you will adore this book and the series. I can't wait for more of these folks - I hope their stories go on forever!
