I am on chapter 6 and loving it so far. The detail in the story is not to much but just right. Makes feel like I’m under the floor board of that wagon lol

I realized after I started the Ena of Ilbrea series that this was a prequel. I expected to read about how Ena came to be with Lilly and how her parents died. Why her world is the way it is. But Ena finds herself in a desperate situation and figures out a way to help others as she makes her way out of it. While looking for her brother, she comes across a group of kids being held by the sorcerer. One just happens to be around her age and I can’t help but wonder if this is the original meet cute for a future character we see in Ember & Stone. It’s not a bad start but I don’t think I’ve gained anymore knowledge having read it that couldn’t have been accomplished with a flashback montage.
