Debussy composed this six-piece suite in 1908. He dedicated the works to his beloved daughter Claude-Emma, affectionately called "Chou-Chou." Debussy's friend Andre Caplet orchestrated a version of the Children's Corner that was published in 1911. The style of the six pieces was intended evoke images of childhood and young children in honor of Claude-Emma.
