Christian author, Hallee Bridgeman, has absolutely outdone herself in writing the romantic suspense novel A Harmony for Steve. I have read all of Hallee’s books, and I am not sure what I was expecting before I began reading this novel, but my breath was taken away in the first few chapters with the storyline of the book. The characters are well developed and encounter true life suspense adventurers. Harmony Harper, who comes from a strong Christian family, has led a sheltered life giving her heart to the Lord at an early age and sees the potential good in all things and people. She has devoted her life to serving God by singing contemporary Christian music which is now making the pop charts to the concern of her manager brother. Steven Slayer, on the opposite end, has experienced a traumatic childhood and turns to hard rock music singing lead for the famous band, Abaddon, glorifying the evil one, Lucifer, who is the enemy of God. Even though he actually deep down believes in God and does not worship satan, his lifestyle glorifies this evil being and draws many followers into the evil realm of satanism. In a drunken and drug induced stupor, Steve hears Harmony sing Amazing Grace which convicts his soul and begins his journey of redemption and their relationship. I loved how the love of Jesus was wound throughout the story line of the book and not just in a few places. Sometimes we forget that Jesus died for all sinners, and God’s redemption is not only for the young, as Harmony who was saved at an early age, but for the blackest of sinners, like Steve, who have led a life pleasing and glorifying the evil one. It’s been a while since the last book was written in this series. A Harmony for Steve is the fourth in the The Song of Suspense series and was well worth the wait to read. I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

A powerful story of true Christian love, surrender and redemption. Hallee Bridgeman writes another story with edge of your seat suspense and romance sure to please. The characters are well developed and you will fall in love with some with very beginning. The story deals with the battles that are very real in the world between evil and good. This sensitive topic is presented in a way that will cause the reader to stop and think about the hidden things that happen all around us everyday.

Harmony Harper and Steve Slayer are musicians with nothing in common other than music, until a chance encounter brings their paths closer than they would ever think. I had only a vague idea of the plot before I read this, so was able to read it with few expectations. I was blown away. This is seriously the best book of the series, in my opinion. In fact, I stayed up much too late on a work night because I had to see what happened next! A Harmony for Steve is gritty, honest, raw, and real. As Steve battles real life demons like addictions, he has no idea of the spiritual ones simmering from his past. Meanwhile, Harmony must battle her loved ones who think they know best for her in order to do what she feels called to do. As their friendship slowly develops, outside forces are already working to tear them apart. Only with the help of their family and friends and their faith are they able to overcome the battle. Despite having a "dark" theme of spiritual warfare, this redemption story is a breathtaking example of the Lord's overwhelming love for us, His children.

I can't stop recommending this book to my friends! As an avid reader, I munch through a lot of books. This is by far the best book I've read from Hallee's repertoire and the best book I've read this month. The story captivated me from start to finish. Two unlikely friends band together to face evil together. A good redemption story with a fantastic suspense to it. I definitely recommend this book!
