Description

After a hot hook-up on New Year’s Eve, Crystal Donovan plans to avoid Jamie Westcott, which could be difficult, given the size of Ribbon Ridge. But she’s only there a few days doing research on the town’s history then it’s back to her glam life in LA. When his family holds the key to unraveling a century-old mystery she has to seek him out—and the sparks are still flying.

Jamie Westcott works his ass off to repay his college loans, which doesn’t leave much time for other commitments. Crystal’s a perfect fling: she’s fun and sexy and, best of all, they have little in common and she lives somewhere else. Only, the more time they spend together the closer they get, despite their intent to keep things casual.

When everyone learns Crystal sold a screenplay exposing the dark secrets of Ribbon Ridge—and Jamie’s family—she becomes the town pariah. Jamie won’t leave and Crystal can’t stay—can love show them another way?

Jamie and Crystal are fun and sexy, with great chemistry and a relationship to root for. On paper, they look to not have a lot in common, other than their mutual friends. He's a bit younger, much poorer (thanks to student loans and an ex-gf) and a small town guy. She's got money, thanks to a great job with her movie star best friend, and is a big city girl all the way. But as Crystal continues to help solve an old mystery surrounding Ribbon Ridge and a little known citizen, what she finds may not make her very popular in the town Jaime loves. While he's supportive of her work, he's also cautious of how it will affect the town, his family and their relationship. For this reason, I am very glad I've read the first two books in the Love on the Vine series (as well as the original Ribbon Ridge books). While there's enough background info to make this a stand-alone, I encourage reading the others, also. The information Crystal discovers about the early inhabitants of Ribbon Ridge is disturbing, and unfortunately, timely to recent events in the news....events that should NOT still be an issue in 2017. But like most Darcy Burke books I've read, it just makes the storyline more compelling and real. Yet another 5 star read!

Holy smokes! This is the first contemporary romance I've read by Darcy, and I think I chose a good book to try! Aside from packing PLENTY of heat, Darcy wove a mystery throughout, which kept me eagerly turning the pages to see its resolution...and how it would impact Crystal and Jamie as a couple. True to form, Darcy included characters from previous books, and I got to know them and became VERY interested in reading their stories too! Full of dialogue and details, this was a very thorough, engaging and enjoyable romance! (I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)

A fantastic read and a great addition to this contemporary series from Darcy Burke. I love her writing style, character development, and low angst storylines. This is Jamie Westcott's story and it's a great one! What started as a crazy New Year's Eve hookup between Crystal Donovan and Jamie Westcott quickly heats up. Since they live in two different worlds, Crystal in the glitz and glam of LA while Jamie is a Ribbon Ridge boy, there doesn't seem to be much of a future. Yet as Crystal starts spending more and more time in Ribbon Ridge their relationship becomes much more than a fling. Can they find a way to make this work??. A great read that I definitely recommend to everyone.
