Description

In April of 1969, Manuel Cazimero was selected by Kohala Sugar Company, his employer of three years, to participate in a training program which would have qualified him for the position of Senior Cane Truck Driver. On April 10, after three days of classroom instruction, he entered the practical phase of the program in which he alternated between driving a 10-ton manual shift cane truck and observing his instructors operation of the vehicle. Following an afternoon rest break and without sound or warning, Mr. Cazimero fell dead.
