I love to reread this book all the time and just finished rereading it tonight. I can’t help but be disappointed that the author decided to shorten the story. I loved reading about how not everything was a fairytale after their wedding and it made them more realistic. Bringing Rick’s parents into the story made him more than just a man with a great career. I’m also sad her oldest brother part in the story was also cut off along with her seeking her family’s guidance on how to deal with her mother in law. Sally was more relatable in that way, what woman doesn’t go to their family for support or guidance when they just fled the coop? I really do hope the author would bring that all back; fingers crossed. That’s the only reason why I gave this book four stars instead of the five.

Did a high school girl write this book? The dialogue sounds as if the characters are straight out of your local high school. I couldn't get passed the first chapter. The authors writing style reminds me of a fourth grader's short story. The sentences are choppy, not at all eloquent, and the vocabulary is drab at best. I believe my time will be better served reading something else.
  • This author needs to research and proofread.

Terribly written, with continuity errors and anachronisms galore. You'd think a writer of historical fiction would research a little historical fact, but this author didn't bother. The story itself was barely interesting, and only held my attention by having such terrible people as the characters. These characters did some truly appalling things. Their behavior was erratic and baffling. This story was only exceptional in how awful it was to read.

I am enjoying this series of books. I like the idea of northern women wanting to be matched with western men that have manners. However, they are always very handsome and in real life, that is not always the case. I still love the storyline.thank you

It was a good book but a little to intimate at times. So it would be better for older readers.
