Description

A Lake Bittersweet winter storm gives them a second chance to heat things back up… Baseball star Billy Cooper’s marriage might have crashed and burned, but he’s knocking it out of the park when it comes to co-parenting. When an opportunity for a huge new contract comes along, Billy knows Jenna will have his back. All they have to do is demonstrate that he’s not the same wild “Billy Club” who partied too much back in the day. Rehabilitate his reputation? Shouldn’t be a problem. He's changed; but does Jenna realize it? Jenna Scarlett Cooper couldn’t ask for a better ex than Billy. It’s almost as if, now that they’re older, more mature… No, she can’t think about him that way, no matter how tempting it is. Sexual chemistry was never their problem. Neither was compatibility, or love, or fun, or… nope, she can’t go there. Definitely not. Not with kids and work deadlines and family issues… When a winter storm buries Lake Bittersweet, suddenly things get real for Billy and Jenna. But someone doesn’t want them back together, someone with sabotage in mind. Can two exes who never really fell out of love overcome doubts, fears—even a possible stalker—and find their way back to each other for the ultimate do-over?

Loved this sweet, second chance, small town romance. This is a really great story with lots of interesting things happening and amazing characters. Divorced ex's, co-parenting, drama, some suspense and of course romance. These ex's still feel the spark. This book has it all and will hold your attention until the end. It is cute and fun-to-read, with tons of charm. I love Lake Bittersweet! This is a fantastic series!

If you love second chance romances, I highly recommend The Do-Over. This is Billy and Jenna’s story and I couldn’t read it fast enough. This is a steamy romance about co-parenting after getting a divorce. Jenna and Billy should be role models to all the divorced parents on how to achieve this. I’m not going to leave any spoilers about how they get their second chance, but I will say Jennifer Bernard did an amazing job with this book. If you enjoy this book and haven’t read Billy’s brothers books, I highly recommend them also. My favorite is Galen’s book, The Crush. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this my voluntary and honest review.

This is the ultimate second chance romance! Billy and Jenna are incredible together especially as they raise their two boys. My favorite part of their relationship is that you can feel the love they still share even after the divorce. Billy's adoration of Jenna will never fade and he is supportive and attentive to her needs. Jenna's insecurities were always an obstacle, especially regarding Billy's baseball career. Her mind would dive into the unknown and make her crazy, but she never would begrudge Billy his career. You know that the love is deep in her soul. Billy and Jenna's path back to each other has been lined with maturity, sobriety and counseling. They have taken this path together with their boys as the main focus. Zach and Bean are their priority. Then, an awards dinner, a blizzard and a crazy person all play a part in what comes next for this couple and their boys. This is a fun and suspenseful romance that will touch your heart...a must read for any romantic.

THE DO-OVER is the seventh in Jennifer Bernard’s warmly wonderful Lake Bittersweet series, set in a small town on the shores of this lake. It’s a lovely visit to a welcoming community. As the title suggests, this is a second-chance romance between baseball player Billy Cooper, who’s trying to make the most of his finite time in the majors to do right by his family, and his ex-wife, Jenna Scarlett Cooper, a talented wildlife illustrator with whom he co-parents their growing boys, Zack and Bean. Jennifer Bernard writes Jenna and Billy’s story movingly, and their families and friends who are a vital part of their lives. It’s clear that these two still have deep feelings for each other, and it becomes increasingly clear how they’ve also grown and matured from the people they were when they’d decided they weren’t working as a couple. I loved Billy and Jenna and their family, and was completely convinced they would be able to truly navigate a life together successfully. A fantastic, hopeful read.

The Do Over is book 7 in the Lake Bittersweet series by Jennifer Bernard, another awesome read! This is Billy and Jenna Cooper’s story of 2 people who circumstances led them to divorce. It’s a story of finding their way back to each other, overcoming doubts, fears and who doesn’t wait them back together… I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a great second chance romance. Billy Cooper is back in Lake Bittersweet to spend time with his kids and ex-wife during the holidays. Billy’s career as a professional baseball player is in a bit of a tough spot, and he asks his ex-wife Jenna to do some interviews and spend time together to help his image and his career. Problem is, they both have some unresolved feelings for each other, and some issues they never cleared up during the divorce. I loved watching Billy and Jenna mature and come into their own in this story. Both characters did some work on themselves, before they tried to come together again. This was a very believable second chance story because so many things from the past were addressed. Another heartwarming story in the beautiful setting of Lake Bittersweet. I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
